A blouse for all Seasons: DVF Elsden Print Raglan High Neck Blouse

Former DVF Creative Director, Jonathan Saunders, designed vibrant prints with the modern woman in mind for DVF’s Autumn Winter 2017 collection, and the tonal-yellow Elsden print on this black silk-crepe raglan high neck blouse is one of the many showstopping pieces that resulted from such amazing creativity. According to DVF.com: Developed from freehand sketches of lilies, anemones, and pinstripe plants—the hand of the designer being a key ingredient to Jonathan Saunders’ design process—the Fall Elsden print, an extension of our custom Summer 17 Fenelon print, is abstractly rendered. Using transparent vellum paper, the sketch is redrawn and colored using oil paint sticks. Once scanned and transferred to a computer, it is manipulated in scale, and enhanced with a graphic treatment. Appearing on silk dresses, separates, and printed leather accessories, each iteration of the print is specifically scaled for the piece on which it will appear.

This blouse is versatile–it can be worn in the fall or winter (the high neck, long sleeve style) and it can be worn in the spring or summer (the yellow color and the silk-crepe fabric). I actually own the long fitted skirt that the blouse is paired with in the DVF website photo (in the collage above), but I decided to pair the blouse with an ASOS Longer Length Scuba Pencil Skirt with Ruffle Detail in Navy (this skirt cost me $19 and is, sadly, sold out). My accessories are open-toe black ankle boots by Charles David (bought from Nordstrom Rack) and an amazing dupe of the Chloe Pixie Bag in Yellow suede and leather by Ainifeel.
