Holiday Style Guide: 5 Curvy Chic Looks For All Your Holiday Events

Holiday season is here and I have put together 5 showstopping looks that will put the Fa La La La in any event you may have to attend. I decided to assemble these looks specifically for #curvy women like me because so many fashion magazines and blogs out there tend to have more of the va-va-voom looks for more slender women and then they throw in the occasional plus size look to appease the gods of fashion equality (LOL!) Also, while I do love my high fashion looks and luxury items, some of the prices out there can be a little too outer-worldly (read: too expensive). My goals here are to demonstrate how fabulous and glamorous we curvy girls and to highlight budget-friendly options that won’t break the bank.

*Please note that all the shopping details and links are at the bottom of the article.

So, here they are, my five showstopping curvy chic holiday party looks:

1. Chanel-inspired: Chanel’s favorite color combination is definitely black and white. This black lace dress with a white neck tie by Eloquii gives me Chanel vibes that buoy up my holiday spirit. I styled it with a Chanel gold and pearl CC brooch at the bow tie, Michele two-tone Caber diamond watch, black pumps with crystal ornament, and a black leather My Lady Dior bag with customizable bag strap (the bright red of one of the pins adds a pop of color to the bag strap and the overall look). This outfit would be perfect for a work holiday party because it offers up demure elegance with a whopping dose of glamour all at once (#justsaying)…LOL!

2.  Bodacious Bordeaux: This burgundy velvet jumpsuit hits all the right notes–it is modern and sultry wrapped up with classy elegance and delivered with holiday cheer. This jumpsuit has a back zipper making it so easy to get in and out of it (us plus size babes know the struggle of getting in and out of certain looks).  This jumpsuit comes with a sash but I styled it with a Black Leather with Gold buckle Gucci Marmont belt, a pair of black suede with crystal ornament pumps and a Swarovski Crystal studded minaudiere (purchased from Etsy).

3. Naughty and Nice White Lace: This white lace panel trapeze dress by Kylie and Kendall (purchased from Off Saks Fifth Avenue) is so refreshing. This look is perfect for a New Years Eve party. The trapeze (babydoll) shape is comfortable and forgiving of imperfect mid-sections without looking like a maternity dress. More slender/boxy women can pull this off without bras, however, that would be a major disaster with my heavy artillery. I decided to go with black under garment for a white black combination that I am so into lately. I styled it with the same pair of black suede with crystal ornament pumps, Michele two-tone Caber diamond watch and Swarovski Crystal minaudere as above.

4. Velvet Star Bright: Velvet is a fabric commonly associated with the holiday season. I decided, however, to go with a color that is not typical for the holidays because why not? This Velvet dress in Lavender with deep V-neck and exaggerated bow-tie sleeves will kick any holiday spirit into high gear. It is figure flattering and comfortable, yet stylishly contemporary. I styled it with a Nude suede ankle strap mid-heel pump with a luxe rhinestone buckle ornament and a lavender, pink and green floral embroidered and pearl studded clutch by Maz Collection (purchased from Etsy). Of note the shoes are by J Renee and they are a great dupe of the Manolo Blahnik Seneca pumps and they cost 1/10th of the price of the Manolos ( $99.95 versus $925).

5. Golden Glam-girl: This gold sequin bardot-style flare-sleeve dress is the definition of showstopper! It is perfect for any party–holiday, New years, or otherwise. You will look like the modern belle of the ball in this number lending fierce kilowatt energy to the event. I styled this look with my Michele two-tone Caber Diamond Watch, gold thread with pearl and multicolored crystal hand beaded clutch by Maz Collection (purchased from Etsy), and Pleaser Amuse 15 strappy high-heeled Sandals in Gold.  Of note, the Pleaser Amuse 15 is an amazing dupe of the Jimmy Choo Lance and Lang sandals that cost $895 (the pair by Pleaser cost $54). The Jimmy Choos only go up to Size 42 (12) which was just too tight for me–the Pleaser version goes up to Size 14 because it is a brand that caters to cross-dressing Men (the lengths I will go to for style–LOL!) The price difference was an added (MAJOR) bonus.
