Transition to Fall Look: DVF Silk Smock Dress with Over-the-Knee Boots
One of the easiest ways to transition a spring or summer dress to a fall/winter look is to style it with knee-high or over-the-knee boots. This chic look merges form and function especially if you get a low to mid-heel height for the boots. For this look, I styled a Diane von Furstenberg Silk Smock Dress with Steve Madden Suede Over the Knee boots.

The combination of navy, teal, grey and black in the dress is divine for fall 2017. Michelle Obama wore a DVF blouse in the same fabric as this dress last fall when she and President Obama hosted the US Olympic athletes at the White House. Layering is needed for Fall weather which can be quite erratic, warm one minute and frigid the next. For layering in this look, I added a grey duster by Velvet and it blended so well with the colors of the dress and the color of the boots. I then added a boho-chic style handbag that can be worn top handle or cross body, also in a beige-grey color that flows so well with the overall look.
