Velvet, the Comeback Kid: Vince Camuto Velvet Burnout Dress

Velvet has made a major comeback this fall fashion season. Colored velvet was very prominent in many of the presentations at both New York and Paris Fashion Weeks. Indeed, if you search many retailers’ in-store and on-line content, you will definitely stumble upon many velvet pieces. It is no surprise that Velvet is making a comeback because other 70s fashion faves have already arrived or are getting ready to come back like exaggerated/bell-sleeves, flowy bohemian white dresses, floral prints and gladiator/tie-up shoes.

For this look, I have styled a Vince Camuto Velvet Burnout Shift Dress with over-the-knee Steve Madden faux-suede boots and a black leather shoulder bag. Of note, the Steve Madden boots, at $79, look quite similar to the Stuart Weitzman pair that inspired them (which costs $798).

This Vince Camuto dress is sold out–I got it for $37 at Nordstrom Rack not too long ago. There are some similar Velvet burnout options here, here, here , and here (respectively) also at great prices.
