Blending Parisian Chic with New England Fall
When I think of the term Parisian Chic, I think effortless glamour and timeless charm. Even though the french fashion industry is known for giving the world many innovative designs that continue to push fashion forward, its main allure actually lies in its ability to blend trendsetting with longevity. In fact eight of the ten oldest fashion houses that are still in operation today are French: Hermes (1837), Louis Vuitton (1854), Lanvin (1889), Chanel (1909), Nina Ricci (1932), Dior (1946), Givenchy (1952) and Yves Saint Laurent (1961).
The main guiding principle of Parisian style is that you should dress to feel good not just to show off beautiful clothes. For this look I blend a love of French Fashion with a combination of some of the rich and vibrant colors that New England Fall has to offer–plum, chocolate, burgundy, green, and buttercream. The other blends in this look: luxury items with more affordable ones, old items with new pieces and, most importantly, style with comfort.
